YEREVAN. – Armenia’s 32nd spot achieved in the World Bank’s “Doing Business Report 2013” is the best ever result in the country’s history, First Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan stated addressing session of the Armenian Information Technologies Development Support Council.  

As compared with the year past, Armenia achieved progress by eighteen points at once and this is the best rate within CIS. As a result, Armenia surpassed all other CIS countries and, in the region, it remains solely behind Georgia. Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s rankings, on the other hand, dropped by one and ten spots correspondingly.    

In his turn, PM Tigran Sargsyan recalled that last year they were discussing the matter of improving Armenia’s ranking by a mere five spots and the Economy Ministry was instructed to achieve this. In his words, the country still has a potential to further improve its position in the Doing Business Report.
