President of Serbia Boris Tadic spoke of security threat in the Balkans and provocative statements that might destabilize situation the region at the UN Security Council.

Earlier, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic announced about the possibility of using military force against Republika Srpska (RS) in case of a referendum on the RS independence.

Serbian President called such declarations unacceptable. According to him, Serbia strongly condemns “warlike and unfounded” statements voiced by President Mesic.

However, Tadic underlined that Serbia adheres to its fundamental commitments on development of cooperation and neighborly relations with Croatia.
