YEREVAN.- Spreading of personal conversation record is illegal. It is an act which must be condemned, MP from Republican Party of Armenia Galust Sahakyan told reporters on Monday.

He said there different opinions about the spreading of intercepted conversation.

“I do not think that National Security Service is linked to spreading of the recording. The two of them are not those NSS is interested in,” he emphasized speaking about the intercepted conversation between the Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP Levon Zurabyan and Prosperous Armenia (PAP) MP Vartan Oskanian.

Sahakyan stressed that neither Zurabyan, nor Oskanian are threatening national security. Personal conversations must not be made public, he emphasized.

The conversation between Zurabyan and Oskanian was posted on Youtube by anonymous user. The main topics covered were ANC members’ attitude towards cooperation with PAP, upcoming presidential elections and possible nomination of a candidate from ANC. After being posted on Youtube, the recording was spread by media outlets.

Levon Zurabyan and ANC member Nikol Pashinyan accused NSS of wiretapping and spreading of personal conversations which contradicts the Constitution.
