Mayor Ahmet Sait Sadrettin Turkan of Tuzluca city of Turkey’s Igdir Province, which borders Armenia, paid a visit Tuesday to the Turkish military units that are stationed at the border with Armenia.

He noted that the objective of his visit was to encourage the Turkish soldiers that are serving away from their families and under difficult conditions, Haberler news agency of Turkey reports.

To note, the mayor of Tuzluca is known for going to the Arax River, every year on the anniversary of the day when this city was occupied from the Armenians, and throwing carnations into the river and releasing white doves into the sky as a sign of peace.
