YEREVAN.- A candidate from opposition may defeat Serzh Sargsyan if certain conditions are ensured, Armenian political analyst told reporters on Wednesday.

Edgar Vardanyan, analyst for Armenian Center for National and International Studies, said society must be engaged.

“Looking back at parliamentary vote we can assert participation of these forces [Prosperous Armenia, ARFD and Armenian National Congress] would not add something under the current situation,” he said.

If the government fails to create competitive conditions such elections might be uncompetitive. However, this is not conditioned by participation or non-participation of certain political forces.
