YEREVAN. – Several Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP)-member former senior government officials and some present-day PAP MPs are visiting the presidential election campaign headquarters of the ruling Republican Party (RPA), Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“Yesterday [Thursday], former Urban Development Minister, PAP Political Board member Vardan Vardanyan paid a visit to the RPA [campaign] headquarters. Last week, former Health Minister Harutyun Kushkyan, who likewise is a PAP Political Board member, also visited the RPA [campaign] headquarters.

Since it is becoming clear these days that, despite the [PAP] party’s formal decision [of not running in the forthcoming vote and not supporting any candidate], the PAP members will support [RPA presidential candidate, incumbent President] Serzh Sargsyan, it turns out that PAP will actually support Serzh Sargsyan in virtually full force,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
