Dilma Rousseff has maintained her capacity as the President of Brazil in Sunday’s runoff election.

After the counting of the 98.29 percent of the ballots cast in the country’s reelection, Rousseff received 51.48 percent of the votes.  

Her opponent, opposition Brazilian Social Democracy Party President Aécio Neves, on the other hand, won 48.52 percent support, the Russian NTV television reported.    

According to the source, this was the tensest election in Brazil history. 

The Brazilians, who have experienced first-hand the results of their government’s consistently implemented social programs, secured victory for 66-year-old Dilma Rousseff.
