Ramzan Kadyrov, who is Head of the Chechen Republic which is a federal subject of Russia, has received an invitation from President Bashar al-Assad to visit Syria.

Kadyrov informed the aforesaid via Instagram, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

“[Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad] Haddad gave me Bashar Assad’s invitation to visit Syria,” the Chechen leader wrote.

He also noted that the mufti [i.e., an Islamic scholar who is an interpreter or expounder of Islamic law] of Syria had conveyed him Assad’s gratitude in connection with Russia’s principal stance in regional events.    

“I noted that the objective of the West is to engage millions of Muslims in war and to make them destroy each other,” Kadyrov stressed, in particular.
