Armenian Government should reconsider its economic policy, making it more efficient under global crisis instead of controlling seat belts of the drivers, Artsvik Minasyan, ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction MP told the journalists, August 20.

Anti-crisis plan carried out by the Government can be graded 2 points out of 5, underlining that ARF Dashnaktsutyun has warned about the imminent crisis in the end of 2008, while Prime Minister Tigran Sarsyan refuted the fact to the last.

“Large funds were invested in construction sector, however no-one knows whether there is a demand, and Armenians are solvent of purchasing the apartments,” Minasyan stated.

MP brought an example of governmental struggle against the crisis. In Baghramyan village (Armavir region, Armenia) soil needs to be irrigated more compared to other villages. Under Government decision the water should be equally shared among all villages. So presently the village is on the ruin threshold.

Minasyan considers 15% recession forecast to be impossible: “Armenian economy depends on Russia where the second wave of crisis is pending,” MP said, forecasting 20% recession.
