A 4-year-old child from the U.S. city of Indianapolis, Indiana, shot herself and her mother in the head, Indystar reported.

A spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said that the child accidentally shot herself in the cheek, and it is believed that same bullet struck her mother in the back of the head. Both were hospitalized.

The father stated that his 2-year-old son was also in the room, but he was not hurt. An investigation on the case is underway.
