YEREVAN. - The building for the residents of Yerevan’s Kond district will be ready in October 2017.
Minister of Territorial Administration of Armenia, Davit Lokyan, stated the aforementioned in the National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday, responding to the question of Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan.
The latter expressed concern about the apartment issue of almost 1500 families of downtown Kond district, which is overbuilt with old private houses.
In response, the Minister recalled that a large construction program was earlier planned to be launched there. However, an investor from Lebanon, who launched the work in 2007, wasn’t able to finalize it, the Government having to look for ways of solving the housing issues of people, whose houses were subject to demolition.
In October 2017, a 1860 cu m building for 70 families will be put in commission.
The second building, which is to be 1400-1500 cu m, will not possibly be built, since part of the citizens preferred getting compensation in cash.
This group of families has been paid 310 mln AMD, another 100 mln AMD to be provided to them this month, Lokyan added.
