YEREVAN. - The further steps to be taken in the direction of the protocols on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations will be dictated by the situation.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Shavarsh Kocharyan, said the aforementioned at a press-conference Wednesday.

Asked whether the Armenian side is going to withdraw the signatures, the Deputy FM noted that the head of the state recalled the documents from the parliament, where they were directed for ratification, but were never ratified because of the non-constructive position of Ankara. According to him, the rest of the steps will be dictated by the situation.

In this context, the Deputy FM noted the negative impact of Azerbaijan and attempts to link the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “Normalization of relations would mean de-blocking Armenia, but this is not Azerbaijan’s cup of tea,” Kocharyan noted.
