YEREVAN. – The probability of a large-scale war in the Karabakh conflict zone is not so high at the moment, Caucasus Institute Deputy Director, analyst Sergey Minasyan stated at a press conference on Thursday.
According to him, the April events and subsequent processes, nevertheless, showed that Azerbaijani side can some steps.
“Azerbaijani side is very dissatisfied with both military and political as well as diplomatic realities and the status quo. It is obvious for me that Baku will try to use any occasion to achieve a middle and low scale escalation”, Minasyan noted.
Then the political scientist added that not external forces but recently increasing technical capabilities of the Armenian and Karabakh play a deterrent role, since the armies are able to restrain Azerbaijan at possible low and middle scale escalation.
