The new elect US President has verified nomination of the retired Gen. John Kelly as Secretary of Homeland Security. Kelly's new position must fulfill an important mission of " stopping illegal immigration and securing our borders”, reads Trump’s team’s statement, reports BBC.

Earlier, Kelly said in Fox News, that Trump's offer was a great honor for him. " The American people voted in this election to stop terrorism, take back sovereignty at our borders, and put a stop to political correctness that for too long has dictated our approach to national security," said Kelly.
