Archaeologists of University of Gothenburg have discovered previously unknown city, reports Life. It is not far from Athens: 50 km to the north of the town of Karditsa. According to the Swedish archaeologists, the discovery is rare. It can change the perception of the local history, since it’s the first serious study in that area.

Some of the artifacts are on the surface, mainly the remains of the base and walls. With the help of a special radar, archaeologists have been able to see what is under the ground. Archeologists and scientists together with their Greek colleagues hope to continue studying the area next year. Then, they will begin excavations.
