The president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko requested the Prosecutor General's Office to institute proceedings against Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko. The relevant petition is posted on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The authors of the petition consider it necessary to initiate a case against Savchenko on charges of treason, espionage, violent attacks directed against the government's downfall, and posing thereat to territorial integrity of Ukraine. They also called for depriving Savchenko of the parliamentary immunity.
