The U.S. magazine Forbes made an annual ranking of the richest celebrities in the world.

The leader of the list was the American filmmaker and entrepreneur George Walton Lucas who boasts a $4.6 billion net worth, much of it from selling his company to Disney in 2012.  

He edges second-ranked Steven Spielberg ($3.7 billion), who makes the cut thanks largely to a fortune earned with his personal production companies, from DreamWorks to current project Amblin Partners.

 The top three richest and 20% of the members of the list made their fortune in filmed entertainment. Take America's wealthiest female celebrity, Oprah ( $2.8 billion).

The basketball player and the actor Michael Jordan, rappers Diddy, Dr. Dre and Jay Z, writer James Patterson, golfer Tiger Woods, as well as musicians Barbra Streisand, Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen were also in the list.
