Relations between Russia and Turkey are being recovered quickly, while trade and economic cooperation is being resumed, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated noting that Russian PM informed his Turkish counterpart about Moscow’s steps taken for this purpose, RIA Novosti reported.

“We are very glad that our interstate relations are being restored very quickly. The last meeting we had in this format was long ago, in 2014. We have been actively working to ensure that Russian-Turkish ties reach a level that is worthy of our countries,” Putin said opening negotiations with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.

Trade and economic relations are also being restored, he said, adding that Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev informed his Turkish counterpart about additional measures and steps aimed at restoring economic ties.
