Russian President Vladimir Putin's low approval rating in the U.S. is connected with influence of anti-Russian propaganda, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told ABC News.
The interviewer said that only 9% of Americans in a recent poll have a favorable opinion of President Putin. Only 9% see Russia as an ally. He asked Peskov whether it is a problem for President Putin.
“It's not a problem, but this is something that we're sorry about, again. We understand those figures because quite for – well, for how many months? For more than a year, American audience have been a target for severe anti-Russian propaganda,” Peskov noted.
“Lots of Americansthink that Russian hackers are everywhere. Russian hackers are in every fridge, Russian hackers are in every iron and so on and so forth. But this is not true. Those are fake news and this is slander,” he added.
