Nine people died in the bomb blast, which occurred in the St Petersburg metro system. Monday, Interfax reports, citing the National Anti-terrorist Committee (NAC) of Russia.

The information provided by NAC is the first official one on the terrorist attack victims in the city metro

The press-service of St. Petersburg governor earlier informed that according to the preliminary data at least 10 people died and 50 were wounded as a result of the blast. 22 injured have been hospitalized.

The blast occurred at 2:20pm on a train leaving the Technology Institute station and heading to the Sennaya Ploshad station.
