Estonia takes upon its shoulders the presidency of the council of the European Union on Saturday  for the first time in the history. Its presidency will last until the end of 2017.

Estonia leads the EU Council instead of the UK, which has refused due to the Brexit, DW reported.

On June 29, the Estonian government announced four  main priorities by which the country will be guided while being the head of the EU Council: open and innovative economy,  safe, digital and developing Europe.
