Indonesian authorities ordered to open the international airport in Bali, although volcanologists warn of the possibility of a new eruption of Agunga volcano, Euronews reports.

The airport was closed for a few days, and the holidaymakers who had completed their travel were transported by ferries to the islands of Java or Lombok, at airports of which the flights of most airlines were redirected.

About 40 thousand people left their homes at the foot of Agung. It is prohibited to approach to the volcano for more than 8km, and in some places even more, than for 12 km.

The last powerful eruption of Agung occurred 54 years ago. About one and a half thousand people were then killed under lava flows, tens of thousands lost their homes.
