September 14 lasting downpour flooded Georgian port city Batumi.

“Rustavi-2” TV channel informed the downpour lasted 40 minutes raising water level to half meter in the streets. The water submerged almost all suburbs in Batumi. The natural calamity brought electric power substation down leaving five thousand people without electricity supplies.

Mayor of Batumi Mr. Robert Chkhaidze declared pumping brigades work hard in the city.
