At least 11 people died in the earthquake in northern Haiti, CNBC reported. 

Several buildings reportedly collapsed in the Caribbean country, while a disaster management team was sent to the site, said government spokesman Eddie Jackson.

As reported earlier, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 occurred in Haiti. Underground shocks were recorded 20 km northwest of Haiti. The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 15 kilometers.
