Philippine authorities have announced that more than 1,500 live turtles were found in the luggage of a passenger at the airport in Manila, reports Associated Press.
The various types of turtles were found Sunday in four suitcases of a Philippine who had flown from Hong Kong to Manila.
The 1,529 turtles were sent to the Division for the Wilderness and Monitoring of Natural Resources Trafficking of the Ministry of Environmental Conservation.
