A mysterious incident took place Wednesday in Shirak Province of Armenia, shamshyan.com reported.

At around 7:30pm, the Gyumri police department received a call from the local ambulance station that an ambulance staff was dispatched—on a call—to the city landfill, where they found the dead body of a young man.

A Gyumri resident told the police that on the same day at around 4pm, he had seen—while searching for non-ferrous metals in the aforementioned landfill—that a pile had collapsed, where at that moment Gyumri resident Vazgen Y., 30, was digging for non-ferrous metals, and during that time he had approached the collapsed pile and seen that Vazgen was not there.

Also, he told the police and investigators that after that he assumed that Vazgen might have remained under this pile, and therefore called two of his acquaintances for help.

With their help, Vazgen was found under the collapsed pile, then they had called for an ambulance, and the ambulance doctors who arrived pronounced this young man dead.

Materials are being prepared on the incident.

A forensic medical examination has been ordered.
