Swedish company Candela Speed Boat AB, specializing in the production of electric boats "flying" over the water, introduced a new "green" vessel, Bloomberg reported.
The boat will be used as a city water taxi in Venice.
The 8.5-meter-long P-8 Voyager speedboat has a seating capacity of six passengers and can also be used for deliveries. The electric vessel from the Swedish company has computer-controlled underwater wings so that the hull rises above the water, allowing the boat to literally "fly." Using this kind of transportation eliminates the possibility of waves that can increase foundation collapse.
In addition, eco-friendly technology can significantly reduce damage from pollution in the canals of the most famous city on the water. Thanks to the hydrofoils, the boat's friction against the water is reduced, which also optimizes energy consumption and makes the trip silent.
