International flights will resume at Damascus airport on January 7. Ashhad al-Salibi, who heads the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport of Syria, informed this on Saturday, reports EFE news agency.

"We announce the [re]start of international flights at Damascus airport as of January 7, 2025," he said.

Al-Salibi, however, did not specify which airlines the airport will accept flights from.

"I can assure the Arab and other foreign airlines that with the help of our partners we are working to fully restore the operations of the airports in Damascus and Aleppo," he added.
