A handcrafted Easter egg weighing more than 5kg and 55cm tall may be the UK’s most expensive, reports Express.

Made to order by chocolatiers and cake decorators in Harrogate, the Bettys Grande Easter Egg contains a whopping 31,000 calories—15 times the recommended daily limit for a woman.

The £395 egg is crafted from Grand Cru Swiss chocolate made from prized Venezuelan criollo cocoa beans.  It is decorated with an array of spring blossoms and foliage including primroses, narcissi and pansies, with hand-piped stems. The egg weighs in at 5.4kg—more than the average domestic cat.

According to Betty’s, the egg “continues a tradition stretching back more than a century, when our founder Frederick Belmont designed eggs which were ornately embellished with hand-piped icing designs."

The Easter treat’s hefty price tag dwarfs that of other expensive eggs, including the £68 Venchi Chocolate BacioDiDama egg.

The egg is made to order with a two-week lead time and must be collected from one of Bettys’ Yorkshire shops. A smaller version is also available for £42.25.
