France is closely following the escalating security situation in the region following Israel's strikes on Iran, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said in a statement on social network Х.

"France is closely following developments in the Middle East in close coordination with its partners. We call on all parties to act with restraint and avoid any escalation that could undermine regional stability. The security of our citizens and the defense of our interests in the region are our top priorities," the French Foreign Minister said in a statement.

According to Barrot, France “has repeatedly expressed its deep concern over Iran's nuclear program.”

"We reaffirm Israel's right to defend itself against any attack. It is important to engage all diplomatic channels to help de-escalate tensions. France is fully prepared to contribute to this effort," the French foreign minister said in a statement.
