US President Donald Trump continues to make efforts to resolve the Ukrainian conflict and believes he will be able to achieve this.

“We got to get that stopped, we're working very hard on it,” Trump said before the ceremony of the National Christmas Tree lighting at the White House.

The US President stated that at present his country is safe and its population can peacefully celebrate Christmas and New Year.

“As a nation, we have much to be grateful for," the US President said. "On this holiday season, our border is secure, our spirit is restored — most secure border we've ever had in the history of our country. Seven months and nobody has come in illegally to our country.”

Also, he thanked the men and women of the US military, including the "brave heroes" of the National Guard, who ensure order and calm in the country.
