Today U.S. President Barack Obama will announce the details of new U.S. strategy on military operations in Afghanistan at the U.S. military academy, West Point. November 30, U.S. President informed world leaders about the final strategy.

Obama is expected to announce about deployment of additional 30 000-34 000 forces in Afghanistan. Washington awaits more 10 000 troops to be sent to Afghanistan by NATO allies.

Los Angeles Times quotes White House press secretary Robert Gibbs as saying, “You will hear the president discuss clearly that this is not an open-ended commitment,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said. “This is about what has to be done so the Afghans can secure their country.”

Ahead of his U.S. colleagues, UK Prime Minister declared about decision to send extra 500 troops to Afghanistan in the beginning of December. Thus, total UK forces will reach 10 thousand.
