The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia has received 33 notifications about the holding of events related to the nomination of a candidate for the President of Russia, CEC chairperson Ella Pamfilova informed, RIA Novosti reported.

According to her, out of the total number, nine notifications were received from political parties, and the remaining 24—from self-nominations.

The current President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is among the candidates. He had submitted the respective documents to CEC on December 18 in the manner of self-nomination.

The Russian presidential elections are slated for March 17, 2024.
