December 4, 2009 two passenger ferries collided on Nile in Egypt, killing at least three passengers, including two children. Dozens were reported missing.
The accident occurred near northern city of Rachid, northern Egypt, AP reports. Presently, search and rescue operations are carried out in the site.
The number of passengers aboard is yet unclear, however local authorities put it at 50-60. According to official data, 13 people were rescued and taken to hospitals.
The captain’s carelessness caused the accident, local mass media informs.
