Three Eurostar trains stuck in Channel Tunnel linking England with continental Europe.

Technical problems occurred due to weather deterioration and heavy snowfall in northern France, BBC reports. The temperature difference between the cold air and warm tunnel caused the trains to break down, Eurostar said.

The traffic in the area was suspended. 1.500 passengers were evacuated by an empty train.

According to AFP, two trains travelling to London from Brussels and Paris were turned back.

British authorities fear that further rainfall will cause more difficulties.
