YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly’s opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party MP Aghvan Vardanyan considers it improbable for the opposition to run in next year’s presidential elections with a single nominee. Vardanyan himself stated this during a press conference on Tuesday.

“The word ‘opposition’ is mixed and different in Armenia today. Who is opposition? Who is an alternative? Who is alongside the alternative? I doubt that it will be possible to form one single candidate. It’s altogether another thing that they consider themselves to be formed,” Aghvan Vardanyan said.

Also, he proposed to not speak about persons, but rather about forming concrete issues and offering solutions because it is meaningless to speak about persons until the issues appear.

To note, Armenia’s next presidential elections will be held in February 2013 and, until then, numerous names are circulated with respect to possible nominees.
