YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan on Monday received Syrian Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Armenian-Syrian Business Council Chairman Levon Zaki Yetalian, and Armenia’s Honorary Consul in Deir ez-Zor, Syria, the aforesaid Council’s Vice Chairman Souren Vartanian.     

They discussed the matters of interest to Syrian Armenians who have found shelter in Armenia. At present, their unemployment continues to be the greatest challenge, the Ministry press service informs. 

The guests presented their vision toward providing jobs for and solving the social problems of these Syrian Armenians. The interlocutors also outlined the possible avenues for effectively resolving this matter. 

Minister Hakobyan assured the guests that, upon President Serzh Sargsyan’s instruction, issues concerning the Syrian Armenians are at the immediate focus of Armenia’s all state departments, and especially of the Diaspora Ministry.
