Russia’s President Vladimir Putin dismissed Defense Minister Anatoliy Serdyukov over a corruption scandal to replace him by Sergei Shoigu .
Shoigu had been governor of the Moscow region. It is still unclear who will replace him in the office, ITAR-TASS reports.
As reported earlier, Serdyukov may be involved in a criminal case instigated on charges of selling ministry’s assets to commercial firms. The loss is estimated at over 3 billion rubles.
