On Tuesday Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, condemning Holocaust as grave crime.

“Condemning the Holocaust as the most grave and unprecedented crime against humanity throughout history, taking necessary precautions to prevent genocides in the future and promoting the endeavours to educate new generations are not only a duty of every member state of the U.N, but also an obligation to humanity,” the statement reads.

According to the statement, Turkey is determined “to continue its stance to prevent anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia and discrimination.”

However, the statement issued by Turkish foreign office does not mention Israel or Jews as victims of the Holocaust, the Jewish Haaretz daily says.
