GORIS.- The authorities cannot manage to eliminate corruption by themselves, presidential candidate, incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said at the meeting with voters in Goris, a city in Armenia’s south.
“Only government’s efforts are not enough. Will and spirit of all levels of society is necessary,” he said.
President believes you cannot count on success unless you have adequate support from the society.
“Also, if we do not have a set of requirements for civil servant, it is impossible to evaluate his effectiveness. After all, a bribe involves two parties - the recipient and the giver. Therefore, we should close down all the possible loopholes. Many wish that the law operated in relation to others, but not to them. There must be willingness to accept the demands of the law. But it is necessary, in exchange for strict requirements for civil servant, to offer decent wages for their work,” Sargsyan said, reports Armenian News-NEWS.am
