YEREVAN.- Armenian presidential candidate Arman Melikyan met with OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission headed by Heidi Tagliavini.

Talking to reporters on Friday, Melikyan drew observers’ attention to the problem of voters absent from Armenia.

“The observers are focused on voter list. But, there is another problem,” Melikyan said. Officials say 1.3 million people left the country by 2013 and 150 thousand in two consecutive years, he noted.

“It turns out nearly 1.5 million citizens have left Armenia and about two third of them has the right to vote. About 200-3000 thousand have dual citizenship. Most of them have never been to Armenia and would never be here but they are still included in voter list,” Melikyan said.
