YEREVAN. – There is an unprecedented situation in Armenia: the authorities have overshot their steps and Armenia’s future, the future steps by the political opposition depend solely on six men. Presidential contender, and National Accord party Chairman, Aram Harutyunyan said this during a press conference on Saturday.   

“The three parliamentary forces, which together gathered close to 46 percent [of the parliamentary election votes], are not running in the [presidential] vote [to be held on February 18]. They did not give a clear definition as to what they will do after February 18. And if the other [presidential] candidates are withdrawing their nomination, there appears a new tactics for the opposition forces. Aside from myself, the next course of action by the opposition forces depends on six men [that is, the other oppositional presidential contenders],” Harutyunyan said, and stressed that the opposition’s parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces need to collaborate following February 19.     

Also, Aram Harutyunyan called upon the political forces yet again to withdraw their nomination and to leave ruling Republican Party candidate, incumbent President, Serzh Sargsyan all by himself in the election ballot.
