YEREVAN. – Armenian Police Chief, Police Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan is confident that the forthcoming presidential voting in the country “will be ideal” in terms of ensuring its normal course, RFE/RL Armenian service reports.         

To the query as to how the Police are preparing to ensure the normal course of the elections—considering the fact that incidents were recorded when journalistic activities were hindered and there were queues at the electoral precincts during last year’s parliamentary election and the MP by-elections—Gasparyan responded:    

“I evaluate as satisfactory the first and second elections alike. I expect that it will be good, now. If those were the first-second attempts, this already is the third. It will be ideal, here.”
