YEREVAN. – Armenia’s presidential candidate, non-party affiliate, epic poetry specialist Vardan Sedrakyan is still confident that he will be elected president on February 18. Sedrakyan himself stated this during a press conference on Thursday.
He added that his election campaign video is prepared and it will start receiving airtime on the same day.
Also, Sedrakyan noted that if he is elected President of Armenia, he will remove the article on mandatory military service from the Constitution, the army will be salaried and on voluntary basis, and the shortest-term respective contract will be for five years.
In addition, the presidential candidate is not against women likewise serving in Armenia’s Armed Forces, provided, of course, that they wish to do so.
“But there will not be a mandatory and a boys’ and girls’ [mixed military] service,” Vardan Sedrakyan maintained.
