Samsung has agreed to pay Apple $548 million in damages for infringing smartphone patent, NEWSinRun reports.

Under the joint court statement filed by the companies, Samsung will pay the amount by December 14.

Following the payment, Apple will withdraw the motion to enforce the partial judgment.

Nevertheless, according to the judgment, Samsung is going to reserve rights to obtain partial reimbursement in the future of judgment amounts it has already paid.

Apple sued Samsung in 2011 for allegedly “copying” the designs of the iPhone and iPad.
