YEREVAN. – By becoming a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan has confirmed that he is not an invitee to, and not temporary in, politics.

Ruling RPA Vice-Chairman Armen Ashotyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Monday.

“With his petition [to join the party], Karen Karapetyan confirmed that he wants and is ready to be a political figure,” added Ashotyan.

The RPA vice-chairman added that everything is apparent. Also, he yet again recalled President and RPA Chairman Serzh Sargsyan’s announcement that Karapetyan will be the party’s PM candidate after the parliamentary election in April 2017.

Karen Karapetyan became an RPA member on November 24. And in the near future, he will be appointed first vice-chairman of the ruling party of Armenia.
