On December 17, trade unions that represent employees of Eiffel Tower’s voted in favor of extending strikes. Because of protests, the tower has been closed to visitors since December 13, reports RFI.

"We had a unanimous vote for continuing the strike,” said the representative of the major French trade union CGT. He also noted, that the negotiations with the management will continue.

The strikers say, that the reason of the campaign is the lack of dialogue between the leadership and the employees, and that the strategic decisions are being made without consulting the employees.
