At least two people were killed and eight more were wounded after unknown men opened fire at those taking part in a memorial in Chicago, CNN reported.

The shooting victims had been taking part in a memorial for another person killed in a gang-related murder earlier in the day. The police informed that two people  opened fire with assault rifles on the service.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related retaliation for an earlier shooting in Brighton Park, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.
