Police clashed with anti-government protestors on Tuesday, a day after 19 were killed.

Fresh clashes broke out in Taiz in southern Yemen when security opened fire on demonstrators, writes British Guardian. Al Jazeera reported hundreds were injured.

Earlier on Tuesday the EU urged Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down and transit power. Addressing Yemeni President Saleh, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton reiterated her call for an orderly political transition to begin without delay.

A wave of mass demonstration has swept away in Yemen since February. The demonstrators are protesting against President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has been in power for 32 years.
