The leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of Kurds has signed an agreement with the official Syrian government in Damascus on the integration of all civilian and military structures of the Kurdish autonomy in northeastern Syria into the latter’s state institutions, the Syrian presidential office said in a statement on Monday.

As a result of the meeting between Syrian transitional president Ahmed al-Sharaa and SDF commander Mazloum Abdi, an agreement was reached on Monday, which includes the integration of all civilian and military structures—including border crossings, airports, oil and natural gas fields—in northeastern Syria into Syrian state institutions, the statement said.

The agreement added that the Kurdish population is an integral part of the Syrian state and has civil rights in accordance with Syria’s constitution.

With this signed agreement, the two parties also agreed on a ceasefire throughout Syria.
